Raising Kids of Integrity

Deuteronomy 6:4-7
4"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! F8 5You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6"And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
These verses are so convicting. You can hear God's desire for us to diligently teach our children WHO he is. How often does a day pass that we forget to teach our children about God - about his Character?

It bothers me greatly when I see how lightly some people take teaching their children about truth - about Jesus. Kids are missing out on so much "meat" and being feed cartoons, video games, television. The are given no substance to balance their diet. It's like a sugar rush and parents expect them to just land perfectly into this beautiful faith and walk with the lord when they hit adolescents or teenage years. It makes no sense. I have felt frustrated myself because it is hard to find good resources with ideas for teaching and training young children in biblical principles.

If you have felt this way today is the day everything changes for you!!! ;)
Today I happened upon two incredible resources that will help you teach your children "when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." I'm pretty sure all of us miss at least one of these 4.

The first one is a broadcast on raising kids of integrity! It's awesome! The second find is a website called kids of integrity! It is stocked full and overflowing with creative hands-on material to teach kids about integrity! You can print lessons about self-control, honesty, harmony, and the list goes on! It is designed become part of each day! I think you can see just how excited I am by the fact that every sentence I've written ends with an exclamation point! haha

I've been trying to put together curriculum for our toddlers sunday school class (it's so hard to find good simple curriculum for this age). I will defiantly use this website as a resource! It is wonderful!

Deut 4:10
`Assemble the people to Me, that I may let them hear My words so they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.'

Ps 34:11
Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
